The Cedar Rapids Science Center is pleased to announce that GoDaddy, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, has signed on as a major sponsor of its education programs. GoDaddy targeted the program because of its commitment to creating fun educational opportunities with STEM, which stands for science, education, engineering and math.
The Science Center recently moved into a new location, its planned long-term home, which allows for more programing and events on an ongoing basis, in addition to its great core programs like camps, birthday parties and labs for scouting groups. The GoDaddy partnership is a natural fit given both organizations’ focus on science, technology, engineering and math, and their shared interest in fueling future leaders and technology innovators.
The Science Center is opening Maker space within its facility, which is a resource for area do-it-yourselfers, creatives, entrepreneurs, inventors and free-thinkers looking to develop new ideas, new connections and new opportunities. Workshop, classroom and exhibit space are all a part of the effort. The space will serve as a collaborative hub for creativity and inventors.
The Science Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Located on Council St. NE, the museum has ample parking and is conveniently located off Blair’s Ferry Road, near the interstate.
