This year we also enjoyed partnerships with many great organizations like the Linn County Solid Waste Agency, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Water Department, Rockwell Collins, New Bo Arts Festival, and more!
We are also pleased to announce the development of maker space in the Science Center. This hub for do-it-yourself enthusiasts, creatives, entrepreneurs, and inventors will include workshop and classroom space designed to promote the development of new ideas, new connections, and new opportunities through the use of creative devices like 3D printers, plasma cutters, CNC machines, woodworking tools, and more.
In addition to the workshop’s exceptional programs for pre-teens, teens, adults, and retirees alike are planned. A 2014 launch date for the opening of the maker space is planned.
Each Dollar Counts
As the demand for our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based learning in the community grows, we need your continued support to fulfill the mission of hands-on informal science education. With every donation to the Center we are able to do great things. A $100.00 donation can allow us to purchase program supplies, a $500.00 gifts helps us staff programs and events, and gifts of $750.00 or more can help us make an investment in new classroom resources to enhance teaching experiences.
